About Water Filtration Units

A water filtration unit is used to treat site water by removing solids, sediment or chemical contaminants before discharge or reuse. A media filtration system is a type of water filtration that passes water through a bed of solid media, such as sand, gravel, anthracite, garnet, zeolite or activated carbon, to physically trap and remove suspended solids, turbidity and particulates. The type of media used determines which contaminants are removed.

Coates offers a containerised media filtration system that includes three filtration vessels, along with a skid-mounted dual-vessel media filtration unit. Vessels are easily accessible for filling with media, allowing for quick and relatively simple setups.

Our media filtration systems can be configured with specialised media to target certain recalcitrant contaminants. These systems can also be used for particle filtration and for polishing water (removing colour, odour and fine particulates).

You can hire water filtration system configurations suited to your water type and volume. Coates can help design a system that meets your site's needs.
