Why does the MP375 have a ‘Fail-Safe’?
The MP375 supports load using the integral hydraulic cylinder inside its steel casing. The ‘Fail-Safe’ system is installed onto the MP375 after installation. In the very unlikely event that the hydraulic cylinder were to lose pressure, the fail safe system will maintain support of the load. The ‘Fail-Safe’ is rated to the same capacity as the MP375 hydraulic cylinder, so there is no risk to the shoring.
What is ‘Pre-loading’?
In many cases, when designing a large excavation, it is required to apply an active force against the shoring wall. This may be due to a number of technical factors, such as limiting the deflection of the shoring wall. Using the integral Hydraulic Cylinder and a high pressure hydraulic pump, the MP375 can be installed with the prescribed pre-load in order to meet the designer’s performance requirements.
What waler beams are compatible with the MP375?
MP375 is compatible with Coates full range of waler systems, including Mega Brace and HW500. It can also be utilised with many non-proprietary steel waler beams, as well as concrete capping beams, subject to design considerations.
What kind of hydraulic pump is required?
Coates offers a high-flow motorised pump to install the MP375. This allows for rapid installation (and removal) with minimal manual labour.
How is the Hydraulic Unit assembled with the Tube Extensions?
The MP375 is a tubular construction, which bolts directly to the tubular extension pieces. The number of bolts varies depending on the size of tube being used. An adapter piece is required in some cases to connect the MP375 to various different available tube sizes. The MP3745 can be partially, or completely, pre-assembled at a Coates yard prior to delivery to minimise work on the construction site.
Do you offer telemetry?
Yes. The MP375 is compatible with Coates’ fleet of wireless telemetry. This allows for the real time gathering of data related to the excavation that allow the contractor and their consultants to have constant feedback about the performance of the excavation shoring. Available sensors include load, displacement, and shoring all inclination. All data is recorded in a cloud server which is accessible remotely on any device.
What is the Load Monitoring Pin?
MP375 can be assembled with a load monitoring pin. This allows the strut to sense the applied load, which is sent to an online portal that can be accessed remotely to show the load in the strut, and has the ability to configure alerts at pre-determined load values if required.
What end connections are available?
Various end connection options are available to allow for easy connection to various types of shoring walls at a large range of possible angles.
