Scissor lifts are elevated work platforms (EWPs) made for safe vertical lifting. Suitable for elevating personnel and equipment above the ground, they operate using a scissor-like hydraulic mechanism and are available in a variety of lifting capacities and heights. Many of our scissor lifts feature inbuilt stabilising components such as outriggers and levelling mechanisms, to ensure the platform remains safe during operation.
Scissor lifts provide a comprehensive solution for industries that require vertical elevation, both indoors and outdoors, including construction, building maintenance, warehousing and telecommunications. In each application, a scissor lift provides safe access to elevated or inaccessible spaces.
Our scissor lift hire range includes diesel, electric, rough terrain and wide deck options, plus scissor lift and trailer packages. All equipment is regularly serviced by our own experienced maintenance teams to ensure performance and reliability, making Coates an excellent choice for all your lifting needs.
Scissor lifts are elevated work platforms designed to provide vertical elevation for both personnel and equipment. Ideal for indoor and outdoor use, scissor lifts are commonly used in construction, maintenance and warehousing applications, providing a safe and stable solution for accessing high and hard-to-reach areas.
Our scissor lifts for hire feature numerous inbuilt safety features and mechanisms to prioritise the wellbeing of operators. These include guardrails, secure harness mechanisms, stabilising outriggers and emergency stop buttons. In addition, the majority of our scissor lift fleet has operator protection systems or secondary guarding to prevent the operator from being trapped.
You do not need a licence to hire and operate a scissor lift under 11m, but an EWP (Elevated Work Platform) Yellow Card is recommended and you must ensure operators know how to operate the scissor lift safely with the right training, information and instruction. A high-risk work licence is required for operating boom-type EWPs, such as cherry pickers and knuckle booms, with a boom length of 11m or more.
