COVID-19 lockdowns: Available services and branch closures

What the NSW & SA Government restrictions mean for customers


As a result of the latest NSW Government COVID-19 health restrictions, all construction across Greater Sydney, including the Central Coast, Blue Mountains, Wollongong and Shellharbour, must pause from 12.01am on Monday 19 July until 11.59pm on Friday 30 July, 2021. 

Under the NSW Government restrictions, Coates is permitted to continue to operate for all permitted industry, emergency and essential services customers

Branch operations have been adjusted to ensure continuity of support for all permitted industry, emergency and essential service customers. However, many of our Greater Sydney branches are closed until 30 July 2021 (pending any additional updates to restrictions by the NSW Government).

South Australia has also entered a seven-day lockdown from 6pm on Tuesday 20 July, with construction paused across the state.

Greater Sydney available services 


The following branch services remain available for emergency delivery only in Greater Sydney, including the Central Coast, Blue Mountains, Wollongong and Shellharbour:

  • General Hire  Auburn, Port Kembla, Berkley Vale
  • Sydney Mechanical Hub, Moorebank  skeleton staff for emergency works only, servicing essential utilities and government maintenance emergencies for lighting, access, materials handling, earthmoving and compaction
  • Sydney and South Coast shoring, traffic barriers, site accommodation hubs – skeleton staff for emergency works only, servicing essential utilities and government maintenance emergencies
  • Coates Customer Support – please contact 13 15 52 if you have any questions about your fleet on hire

Supporting our customers, protecting our people and our community


Our COVIDSafe management plan and business continuity plans are aligned to the enforced NSW Government restrictions and health advice to ensure we continue to operate safely, and protect the health and wellbeing of our people, customers and the community throughout the lockdown period.

The Coates team will continue to maintain and clean our equipment to the highest standards with our intensive equipment cleaning procedures, including antibacterial cleaning of surfaces where customers or employees regularly contact e.g. steering wheels, handles, remotes etc.  

We’re working in accordance with NSW Government protocols, providing work letters for selected branch employees, delivery drivers, installation crews and field service mechanics supporting permitted industry, emergency or essential services.

If the Coates team experience any cold or flu symptoms, or have been in close contact with anyone who has tested positive, they are required to self-isolate, get COVID tested, and not return to work until results are known. 

We're also working closely with suppliers to ensure the enforced government restrictions and measures are adhered to across our supply chains.
