February 28, 2025 - Coates, Australia’s leading equipment hire and solutions company, will increase its presence at Supercars events after securing naming rights of Supercars’ Volunteer Program from 2025.
The newest agreement extends Coates’ 26-year relationship with Supercars, with the newly established “Coates Supercars Volunteers” program to enhance recognition and support for volunteers across all Supercars promoted events.
Supercars events are supported by over 5,000 volunteers each year, taking on roles from ticketing to scrutineering to flag marshalling, and play a critical part in the operations of each event. As part of this partnership, Coates will provide increased benefits, dedicated volunteer appreciation events, expanded recruitment efforts, and skill development opportunities.
Coates Chief Commercial Officer, Stephen Cowan, emphasised the company’s enthusiasm for backing the Supercars Volunteer Program and recognising the contributions of volunteers.
“Motorsport relies on the dedication and expertise of volunteers, and we are thrilled to support them through the Coates Supercars Volunteers program,” Cowan said. “Coates has a long history of backing Supercars, and this partnership allows us to give back to those who play such a crucial role in the sport.
“From recruitment to training and appreciation, we are committed to ensuring volunteers feel valued and supported at every event, and hope to further bolster such a great and passion-fuelled program.”

Supercars General Manager – Commercial, Jamie Black, highlighted the vital role volunteers play in the sport and welcomed Coates’ expanded support of the program.
“Without the dedicated hard work of our volunteers, we simply could not go racing,” Black said. “They are an amazing group of people who turn up rain, hail, or shine, and we are very proud to have the support of Coates in our efforts to reward our volunteers for their fantastic work.
“Having Coates on board as the official partner of our volunteer program means we can further recognise and support these invaluable team members, making their experience even more rewarding.”
The Coates Supercars Volunteers program will include recruitment campaigns through TAFEs, universities, grassroots motorsport clubs, and Coates’ extensive stakeholder network. Volunteers will also benefit from skill development programs, ensuring they gain valuable experience while contributing to Australia’s premier motorsport category. Those interested in becoming a Coates Supercars Volunteer can register their interest by emailing volunteers@supercars.com.
