This course covers the skills required to supervise removal of friable and/or non-friable asbestos.
This comprises face-to-face classroom learning, and development and presentation of an asbestos removal plan. Holders of State Regulator issued licences may apply for recognition of prior learning in order to obtain nationally accredited units of competency.

CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry - by recognition
Candidates wishing to apply for an asbestos removal licence must do so through the Safework regulator in your State of address. Further eligibility requirements must be met.
Provide100 points of ID (If you do not hold photo ID issued for the relevant state, you must notify Coates Hire Training Services PRIOR to enrolment).
Hold CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry, or equivalent.
Coates training Services recommends candidates complete and asbestos removal qualification PRIOR to enrolling in this course. Graduates MUST hold an asbestos removal qualification in order to practice these skills in the workplace.
Candidates must provide a copy of evidence of completion of units of competency listed above. This evidence must be in the form of a certificate issued by a Registered Training Organisation or an authenticated transcript issued by the USI Registrar.
Candidates must abide by site requirements for PPE. Where this course is conducted on a Coates site the following Personal Protective Equipment is required:
Yellow high visibility clothing consisting of long sleeves and long trousers
Candidates, in groups of 4-5 persons, develop documentation required for an asbestos removal project. This includes:
Asbestos removal control plan
Site establishment plan
Job duration chart
Waste management plan
Notification to State Regulator
Notification to other parties
The completed group project will be presented to the class as a Toolbox talk.
Where candidates are unable to contribute, or are not actively participating in, the group project, they will be required to complete the project on their own.
